About the Office of Investment Management
We invest the $1.2 billion Endowment, comprised of five employees, and are supervised by an eight-person investment committee whose members have significant investment experience.
Brandeis maintains long-term relationships with many of the worldâ™s most successful investment firms across asset classes. Brandeis partners with over 30 fund managers whose expertise covers a wide spectrum of investment styles and strategies. About the Position
Reporting to the Director of Investment Operations, the Operations Analyst will also support other members of the investment team. The position will be responsible for a full range of investment performance and reporting needs for the investment portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
Investment Operations Management
Responsible for all operational aspects of managing the endowment; maintain Investment Performance system including cash flow activity and investment valuations
Maintain and update various models including private equity cash flow projections, liquidity analysis, and performance attribution
Support investment manager monitoring process including performance, benchmarking, exposure, and business risk
Interact with external auditors and Finance on the annual endowment audit process
Endowment Reporting
Regularly update various reports for internal distribution as well as periodic Portfolio Investment Committee and other trustee meetings
Regularly prepare and update performance reports for endowment across asset classes, managers, and benchmarks
Compile data for external surveys, endowment audit, and annual report
Manager Oversight/Operational Diligence
Coordinate the flow of information from external investment managers to the Investment Office
Work closely with investment staff on assessing investment manager risk controls and meet with external managers as appropriate
Assist Investment team with special projects
Education & Work Experience:
B.A./B.S. preferably in finance/accounting/business management required
2-4 yearsâ™ experience in an investment operations role
Additional Information & Requirements:
Advanced proficiency with Excel (experience with complex spreadsheets, writing formulas, use of pivot tables and VLOOKUP, and other similar skills)
Preference for working in a small entrepreneurial team and comfortable sharing responsibility, handling multiple assignments, and adjusting priorities to meet challenges as they arise
High degree of intellect and integrity, as well as a desire to learn and grow as a professional and keep up to date on the latest technology applications and industry practices
Professional, organized, and highly detail oriented Â
Excellent time/project management skills, applied in a fast-paced environment
