JOB PURPOSE:
The Investments Office is tasked with the stewardship of the College's pooled assets, which provide vital financial support for the College's operations. As part of a small, close-knit team, the Investment Operations Analyst position is integral to the administration of the College's investments. The position requires a challenging matrix of organizational, quantitative, and qualitative skills to complete tasks accurately and promptly. The operations analyst's core duties include managing communications with the College's key investment managers, as well as collecting and consolidating fund information across the portfolio.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Reporting to the Investment Operations Manager, the Investment Operations Analyst performs the following duties and responsibilities:
Support the operation function of the Investments Office.
Reconcile regular monthly cash flows, valuations, and performance data between manager statements, custodian statements, and the College's investment performance software. This will require an understanding of financial documentation, attention to detail and the ability to become proficient with unfamiliar software.
Validate fund and portfolio performance within the College's investment performance software, requiring an understanding of performance calculation, attention to detail and the ability to become proficient with unfamiliar software.
Collecting and maintaining key fund information, communications, and documents across systems used by the College, which requires the operations analyst to have strong organizational skills and attention to detail, advanced computer literacy, knowledge of investment fund characteristics, and the ability to become proficient with unfamiliar software.
Coordinate completion and submission of documents to investment managers including subscription documents, addition or redemption requests, fund amendments, extensions, and other documents requiring approval. This will require the operations analyst to work closely with the other members of the investments office responsible for the sourcing and management of different investments.
Collecting and reviewing fund tax documentation for use by the College's accountants and tax consultants. This will require familiarity with tax documents and business organizational structures.
Support the portfolio management function of the Investments Office.
Provide portfolio performance and key characteristic reporting for regular investment monitoring process, and assist in the production of materials provided to the Investments Committee. This will require computer literacy and knowledge of investment analysis.
Provide analytic support to the rest of the Investments team for the evaluation of new investments. This will require knowledge of investment analysis, attention to detail, and data organization capabilities.
Manage the Manager Inboxâ process to ensure prospects are captured in Dynamo.
Provide other support as needed for the Investments Office. All team members support multiple functions of the investments office, and the operations analyst will have the opportunity to engage with all aspects of the investment process.
Facilitate communication with interested parties outside of the Investments Office.
The Investments Office provides certain financial data as well as quantitative and qualitative information regarding the College's Investments to various interested parties in support of the yearly financial audit, regulatory filings, College communications, and other such similar surveys and requests. This requires that the operations analyst have a basic knowledge of accounting, financial, and investment calculations and the ability to compile and synthesize information from different sources.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, financial analysis, finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, business administration, or a related field is required or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Further education or designations are a plus.
Experience: 3 -5 years of analytical experience. Prefer experience at an institutional investor or investment bank but will consider candidates with strong analytical expertise and a demonstrated interest in investment management.

Experience reformatting data, identifying gaps, and combining multiple data sources into standardized analytical frameworks.
Advanced Excel experience, including data transformation, error-checking procedures, formula design, and pivot/array/scenario tables.
Prefer individuals with an intellectual curiosity for the mechanics of investment analysis.
Familiarity with investment calculations and asset classes.
Familiar with investment fund financial statements, including reconciling fund financial statements to investment performance calculations.
Knowledge of investment performance metrics, including the ability to calculate net cash flow, IRR, TVPI, and time-weighted returns in Excel.
Prefer knowledge of private and public market asset class risk, return, and due diligence processes and frameworks.
REQUIRED HOURS: The regular hours for this full-time position are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday â“ Friday. Extended Holiday, weekend, and evening work hours may be required. Regular hours may vary due to the needs of the College or division. After an initial period of working in the office during the onboarding period, the Investment Operations analyst is eligible to work from home up to two days a week.
SALARY RATE:
The salary rate for this role is between $78,000 - $84,000 with a competitive benefits package. The specific factors that the College will consider when offering a salary to an individual will include, but not be limited to: education, training, relevant prior experience, and performance in prior roles.
