For over 30 years, Homestead Advisers has grown in size and scope, but our client-focused approach remains clear. As a boutique firm, our experienced portfolio managers actively manage the strategies, ensuring that portfolios and accounts receive the expertise and care they deserve.
Summary of Position:
The equity team is responsible for managing two investment strategies, large cap value and small cap core. We serve both institutional clients as part of the NRECA and retail clients via open ended mutual funds. We are looking for an equity analyst who can work in a small, collaborative environment to help provide analytical support to the portfolio management team.
Analyzes and monitors developments that impact portfolio holdings for the firm's equity funds.
Identifies and recommends new investment ideas that generate alpha for the portfolios.
Works in close coordination and partnership with all investment staff and provides support for the firm's portfolio managers.
Collaborates on portfolio strategy and construction and risk oversight, marketing initiatives, and engages in client servicing activities.
Participates in representing Homestead at various conferences, advisory boards, and committees, and before the investment community.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
Knowledge of investment theory and economics, equity, fixed income and alternative investments, asset allocation and performance measurement.
Interpersonal skills, and the ability to effectively work and interact in a collaborative environment with a team of professionals.
Ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, with a diverse membership, employees and/or vendors in a clear and precise manner.
Ability to use Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook) in the day-to-day essential duties of the job.
Ability to provide service excellence by building relationships, being resourceful, responsive, and respectful.
CFA or CFA in-process
3-5 years of relevant financial/investment research experience.

Essential Physical Requirements:
The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
