Job Summary The Investment Analyst position offers an exciting opportunity to join an institutional investment office with $7 billion in assets under management. Analysts have the opportunity to be a part of the investment process by evaluating third party managers in the areas of Private Equity, Hedge Funds, Real Estate, Public Equities, and Fixed Income.
This Investment Analyst will be responsible to:
Support all aspects of the investment due diligence by researching investment opportunities including business, industry and economic conditions for use in the decision-making process to support the selection of investments across all asset classes; and the monitoring of investments under management. Research, model and analyze information for review by the investment team.
Analyze directional changes in financial markets and industries.
Prepare reports for the review of manager level and strategy level performance and assist with the development and maintenance of analytical models.
Monitor investments and business conditions to support the investment team in reviewing investment opportunities, asset allocation decisions and the management of existing investments.
Participate in the development and preparation of investment committee materials. Prepare all aspects of presentation collateral including slides, graphs, charts for slides and handouts.
Operate as an integral member of the investment team by supporting the senior members of the team on the full spectrum of evaluating both prospective and existing investments and managers.
Provide analytical support across the portfolio, particularly in the areas of
Monitoring and assessing existing portfolio investments including performance, risk/exposures and news flow across asset classes.
Assist in new manager diligence by participating in calls and meetings, researching the opportunity set, and assessing the overall performance.
Participate in fund manager meetings and help in conducting the assessment processes (i.e. writing summaries of meetings for internal distribution)
Potentially attend annual meetings
Contribute to ad hoc research projects
Prepare exhibits and other presentation materials for investment committee and Board meetings
Further develop investment skills and contribute to the investment dialogue among the team.
Provide general support to the team on day-to-day tasks
To qualify you must have:
A Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, or a closely related field and a min of 1 year of exp, preferably in an investment industry setting.
Certification as a CFA (Certified Financial Analyst) is preferred
Passion for investing with some basic knowledge of institutional investment management.
Solid Microsoft Office skills (PowerPoint, Excel, and Word)
The analytical skills to collect information from diverse sources, apply professional principles in performing various quantitative and analytic analyses and summarize the information and data in order to analyze complex financial cases
Well-developed collaboration, communication and presentation skills
The ability to interact comfortably and to work effectively with a wide range of investment leaders, professionals and constituents including at the investment committee and Board level
The organizational skills to manage multiple projects and assignments within scheduled deadlines
Willingness to travel as necessary
