The primary location for this role will be New York City. However, other locations will be considered as well.
We are looking for a Director to lead the Americas Analytics team to help guide the further enhancement of performance and risk reporting in support of the portfolios managed within the Americas Direct business. They will leverage data from internal platforms and external providers to solve analytical problems through data-driven insights. The candidate will provide oversight, design, and enhance analytical support to the Investment, Operations, Client Care, and Investor Services teams in the management of real estate portfolios including performance calculations, attribution analysis, investment team reporting functions, monitoring & maintenance of industry benchmarks, risk monitoring, and reporting. The candidate will also be pivotal in preparing marketing materials, generating client reports, and responding to ad-hoc data-related requests. The clear focus of the role is to work with the business to generate data-driven insights to aid in decision-making.

IM carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Director, Analytics and Risk Management position is $185,000.00 annually and the maximum salary for the position is $275,000.00 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on IM’s applicable benefit program.
General Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Statistics, or Data Science desired
Financial services, investment management, or real estate-related experience desired
Knowledge of performance attribution methodologies and the National Council of Real Estate Fiduciaries (NCREIF)
Knowledge of tools to query and manipulate data including Power query, advanced Excel, and SQL databases
Strong critical thinking skills to analyze complex data, business processes, and information flow needs
Organized, structured, methodical
Embraces agile project management and understands requirements gathering, testing, and validation techniques
Ability to work effectively across a matrixed organization
10 years+ of professional experience in real estate accounting, investment research, or performance measurement.
Prior management experience.
Preferred
Prior position of managing a team that is based bifurcated across the US
Experience with real estate-specific data providers such as NCREIF and MSCI
Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
Experience with using statistical computer languages (R, Python, SQL, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets desired
CIPM, CFA, or CAIA designation holders or candidates
New York-based (candidates in other markets to be considered)
