The Investment Office (IO) is responsible for managing the newly-formed endowment of Duquesne University (DU), which pursues a global, multi-asset class investment strategy designed to optimize long-term returns. We are looking for a self-motivated highly driven candidate with experience in institutional investment management to serve as an Investment Analyst. The position, which reports to the Chief Investment Officer (CIO), is a high-impact, entrepreneurial, and mission-driven role.
As the third investment hire by the newly formed Investment Office, this individual will play an instrumental role in the development of the University’s endowment and investment team as Duquesne in-sources its endowment from the outsourced-CIO model. The individual will have a generalist role across Duquesne’s multi-asset class portfolio with an emphasis on private equity. Additionally, the individual will support portfolio management activities including asset allocation and risk management.
As a condition of employment, Duquesne University requires all new employees —full-time and part-time, including adjunct faculty—to get a COVID-19 vaccine and provide proof of their vaccination upon commencement of employment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conducts qualitative research and quantitative analysis supporting the management of the endowment.
Monitors existing investments and analyzes the portfolio to assess investment strategy execution across managers, funds, and asset classes.
Conducts due diligence on prospective managers’ investment process, organization, portfolio holdings, and performance.
Identifies and implements tools, resources, and processes used in investment manager sourcing and market mapping.
Assists in preparation of investment committee materials.
Attends and documents investment manager meetings.
Helps maintain the investment pipeline in the CRM system.
Utilizes and implements portfolio management software solutions and capital markets tools.
Helps maintain and refine modeling for portfolio analysis and liquidity forecasting.
Completes other duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required in relevant fields of study.
2-5 years of relevant work experience.
Preferred qualifications:
CFA or CAIA designation, or progress toward preferred.
