Salary Range: $150,000-$175,000
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Position Summary
Reporting to the Associate Treasurer, Global Cash Management and Operations, the Director, Global Treasury Operations and Liquidity Management is responsible to oversee and direct daily global cash management activities including reporting cash and data analytics and supporting debt financing and capital planning within the Treasurer's office. The role is primarily focused on directing the University's daily cash position, preparing cash forecasts, recommending and executing working capital investment strategy, working with Investment Managers to optimize investments, backing up team to execute daily domestic and foreign wire transfers, overseeing service request workflow queues, being the lead manager and subject matter expect on Treasury Management System (TMS), working with Controller???s Cash Accounting team related to TMS general ledger posting rules and questions, collaborating with Procurement and AP teams to develop and execute payment strategies and overseeing cash management process documentation and training programs. The Director will focus on the use of technology and tools to increase efficiency and minimize cost of banking of day-to-day operations. The Director works with minimal daily supervision and serves as the primary back-up for all functions to the Associate Treasurer. This role directly supervises the Associate Director, Liquidity Management and Assistant Director, Global Treasury Ops and the Treasury Associates reporting to each. The Director also works closely with the Debt and Capital market teams.
Responsibilities
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
Direct the development and maintenance of systems, tools and processes to track, analyze and report cash flow and liquidity, and provide analytical support for debt financing and capital planning.
Focus on use of technology for financial modeling and the use of statistical and data-mining techniques to perform financial and business analyses and best in class senior management reporting
Oversee preparation of interest income/expense forecasts; communication with Office of Management and Budget and Senior Management
Support capital structure/financing options, rating agency presentations, Trustee presentations
Serve as Project Manager for strategic process initiatives for Treasury in collaboration with Controllers and other departments:
Reengineer short term cash position and forecast using TMS
Review and automate daily Treasury reports and processes freeing resources
Improve data points fed to GL to facilitate reconciliation and reporting capabilities
Lead TMS Payments Module integration into daily workflow supporting large international program, ICAP
Key team member working with AP to roll out new payment technologies.
Responsible for the Bank Statement integration through GL Posting Process via TMS. This includes setting up, updating and being the department expert:
Bank statement integration
Bank accounts
GL Entry generation process
Primary reconciliation issues
Reporting
External investment files processing
Manage day to day relationship with FX processor and banks to troubleshoot and solve inquiries
File integrity in the transmission into other university reporting systems (ARC and T-Recs)
Manage unbalanced transactions, including allocating credit card activity
Oversee reconciliation of TMS, Bank and ARC bank balances
Owner of the Service Now Treasury Catalog maintenance:
Primary task manager
Data Analysis
Improvements design and testing
Relationship with IT
Update implementation, documentation and training
Act as primary escalation point
Perform holistic approach to Bank Account Management:
Open/close/update domestic bank accounts
Support Global Support function to manage international bank accounts
Manage the update of systems and databases: TMS setup, Bank Account Database, ARC and reports
Responsible to ensure accuracy and data integrity of daily cash management functions:
Calculate and report daily cash position, forecast the University???s short-term cash position and coordinate with the Associate Director, Liquidity Management the long-term cash forecast
Execute Treasury cash rebalancing and funding transfers and review/approve Accounts Payable funds transfers
Interface with the Accounts Payable and Cash Accounting teams to resolve wire transfer and cash posting issues and leverage TMS GL posting rules
Serve as primary back up to the Associate Treasurer.
Coordinate overall cash management with Assistant Director, Global Treasury Operations liaising with Capital and Debt teams as needed.
Supervise Associate Director, Liquidity Management and Assistant Director, GTO and the two Treasury Associates reporting to them and provide overall guidance for roles in Global Treasury Operations.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (preferably in Economics, Finance or Accounting) or the equivalent required.
At least seven to nine years??? experience in finance, accounting or treasury-related field required.
Preferred Qualifications
CTP certification strongly preferred; if no CTP, must obtain within the first 18 months in the position.
Knowledge of and experience working with financial systems, including banks and Treasury vendor systems strongly preferred.
Treasury Management System experience strongly preferred.
GL accounting background desirable.
Other Requirements
Must have high level of proficiency working in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access) and be comfortable working with databases.
Must be detail-oriented with demonstrated strong problem-solving and financial skills.
Must be a self-starter and capable of working independently.
Must be able to demonstrate excellent organizational, analytical, critical thinking, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
