Federated has an exciting opportunity for a Performance & Risk Analyst.  This position conducts detailed performance attribution and risk analysis, interprets performance and risk data, examines risk factors to perform sensitivity/what-if analysis on the potential impact of those factors on fund performance, and conducts customized research projects suggesting logical portfolio positioning changes from a risk management standpoint.

What You Can Expect:

• Contribute to the risk-efficient implementation of investment ideas in equity and asset allocation portfolios working directly with CIO, portfolio managers, and investment analysts.
• Responsible for the timely generation of accurate attribution and risk management reports for assigned products
• Reconcile the output from the attribution and risk management systems to reports generated by existing Federated Hermes system applications and databases and research/resolve variances on individual securities utilizing research databases and industry sources including FactSet, Bloomberg, etc.
• Identify factors impacting performance and risk, and release reports for distribution to Investment Research personnel
• Communicate results to Manager, Performance and Risk Analysis for dissemination and discussion with Investment Research personnel
• Research and respond to questions/challenges on attribution report statistics as directed by the Manager
• Create customized reports for use by Investment Research as well as product marketing and sales personnel in responding to requests for information from clients and potential clients
• Calculate modern portfolio theory statistics for mutual funds and separate accounts

The Expertise We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in business related field including Finance, Mathematics, Accounting, Statistics or MIS required; coursework in investments preferred; familiarity with basic performance attribution and/or risk management concepts preferred
• Minimum of two years of mutual fund or securities industry experience. Investment research, performance analysis or fund accounting experience preferred.  Familiarity with performance attribution and/or risk management principles preferred
• Prior performance analysis and/or risk management experience preferred
• Familiarity with portfolio composition concepts and methods preferred
• Excellent MS Excel skills required; familiarity with performance attribution/risk management software desired
• Solid decision-making, problem solving, and analytical skills with particular attention given to detail and accuracy 
• Cooperative attitude, effective interpersonal and communication skills with clients, coworkers, and management 
• Ability to be flexible and work as a member of a team
