Quantitative Analyst

Federated Hermes, Inc., one of the nation’s largest investment managers with over $631 Billion in managed assets has an exciting opportunity for a quantitative analyst to join our Multi Asset Group in New York. The successful candidate will be joining a dynamic, highly successful and energetic team of analysts and portfolio managers within the Tactical Balanced team, contributing to alpha generation by focusing on quantitative research and analysis of both asset allocation and stock selection strategies.

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:

• Master’s degree in economics, finance, statistics, financial engineering or related quantitative field preferred; Working towards CFA preferred
• At least 2-4 years of quantitative finance or related experience required
• Familiarity with financial theory, model research and development and portfolio construction required
• Programming proficiency required; Exceptional programming ability in MATLAB or Python preferred
• Working knowledge of Bloomberg and FactSet preferred
• Excellent presentation, written and oral communication skills required; Experience communicating quantitative investment research results to both technical and non-technical audiences preferred

MAJOR DUTIES:

• Work closely with portfolio managers to research and implement new ideas for improving current portfolio alpha strategies
• Assist with projects to evaluate and enhance methodologies used in both multi-factor based quantitative stock selection and asset allocation models
• Deploy successful research directly into production
• Analyze risk/return characteristics of existing alpha strategies and develop new tools for risk management assessment
• Streamline and enhance existing research and production coding processes
• Perform other portfolio related and ad-hoc duties as assigned
