Trader – Fixed Income Pittsburgh, PA
Federated Hermes, Inc., one of the nation’s largest investment managers with over $630 Billion in managed assets has an exciting opportunity available immediately for an Investment Grade Corporate Bond Trader on the Fixed Income trading team in Pittsburgh. The investment grade corporate bond team has continued to experience growth in assets under management and is looking for a trader with relevant trading experience to lend his/her experience to the team.

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in finance-related or computer science field or relevant experience in lieu of degree
- Relevant credit trading experience a plus
- Working knowledge of trading products such as investment grade corporate bonds and derivatives products preferred
- Self-starter and team player with excellent communication skills and high integrity
- Risk/reward mindset and ability to assess relative value opportunities
- Buy-side experience strongly preferred
- Proficiency in Excel required; familiarity with market information systems such as Bloomberg, MarketAxess, Python, etc.
- Strong quantitative, math and accounting skills required
- Excellent relationship building and negotiation skills
- A pro-technology mindset and the ability to leverage technology to improve effectiveness, efficiency, and workflow. Programming skills preferred, particularly Python literacy
MAJOR DUTIES:
- Execute security/bond buy and sell orders as directed by Portfolio Managers, Investment Grade Corporate Bond Trading Desk Head and/or Head of Trading
- Provide Portfolio Managers with information about market sentiment, trading environment, trading volume and price volatility
- Liaise with operations and other fixed income business colleagues to maintain and enhance workflow efficiency, monitor risk and improve communication
- Enhance our integration efforts to improve workflow efficiency through use of technology and systems.
- Interact and maintain good rapport with securities/bond dealers and enhance vendor electronic trading relationships.
- Able to work calmly, flexibly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Interact and maintain good rapport with securities/bond dealers
- Provide securities maintenance, cash reconciliations and ratings reconciliations as needed
- Maintain detailed knowledge of current market climate, potential product development, and assigned investment vehicles.
