We are looking for a Senior Director of Fund Accounting for CBRE Investment Accounting & Reporting Solutions ("CBRE IA&R"), you will work in an ambitious and growing environment. This position reports directly to the Head of Fund Accounting in our Americas region.
Job Summary:
* Manages multiple fund accounting teams to provide accurate and timely client reporting for assigned portfolios of investment funds on a multitude of clients.
* Implements processes to ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
* Manages client relationship in the Americas region for a global investment management client.
* Lead a large client servicing team with well over 45+ FTEs.
* Supports new business initiatives as a subject matter expert of fund accounting cycle and operation as well as specific technical accounting guidance.
* Plays a key role in implementing and maintaining the accounting processes and systems.
* Responsible for client account profitability, annual budget, and forecast.
* This position will be a member of CBRE IA&R's Americas Senior Leadership Team.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Financial Statement & Budgets:
Reviews fund financial statements and provide strategic insights, analysis, and comments. Reviews the work of senior fund controllers or directors. Manages portfolio budgets, forecasts, and reports for clients/investors.
Monitors Financial Performance:
Monitors financial performance of client assigned (i.e. profitability) and provides a forward-looking view and strategic advice to CBRE IA&R management team. May compile and analyze detailed data where required. Serves as a liaison between the different parties and strategically builds relationships with key stakeholders.
Treasury Function:
Manages the treasury/ cash management services for the clients.
New Business Participation & Structuring:
Develops responses to RFPs and attends and participates in sales pitches to present accounting solutions in pursuit of new fund-level business. May prepare and deliver financial presentations to the client's senior management. Manages capital request and budgeting progress, reviewing new contracts and business opportunities. Manages financial transactions related to new business proposals. May oversee multiple and complex deals. Oversees fund structuring (setting-up/maintaining), joint venture structuring, and underlying inquiries, subscriptions, and redemptions terms and conditions.
Customer Service:
Troubleshoots escalated issues and ensures that internal and external customer requests are handled timely, accurately, and focused on customer service. Creates a positive customer experience by opening and maintaining constructive and reliable lines of communication. Reviews items being handled by junior team members.
Transitions:
Works with other internal teams in handling special requirements as defined in the Management Agreement and scope of services in the Financial Services Agreement.
Special Projects:
Works with other internal teams in managing special requirements or projects. Researches and remains current with changing business climate and applicable state and federal regulations related to fund accounting practices.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manages the planning, organization, and controls for a large group of accounting professionals within the fund accounting client servicing team. May be responsible for a mix of direct and matrix reports. Approves subordinate recommendations for their team's recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action, and termination. Effectively recommends same for direct reports to next level management for review and approval. Monitors appropriate staffing levels and reports on utilization and deployment of human resources within own area. Leads and supports staff in areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention.
Job requirements
* Degree from a four-year college or university program with an emphasis in accounting, finance, or related field required.
* A minimum of 15 years of accounting experience or 20+ years equivalent combination of education and experience required. Requires prior management experience.
* Very strong knowledge of financial terms and principles. Reviews complex financial/business analyses and reports prepared by subordinates. Ability to analyze the most complex business/financial data and develop innovative solutions. Develops and implements financial policies and procedures.
* Strong technical fund accounting and financial skills as well as having a comprehensive knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS.
* Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret the most complex business documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive issues. Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches, and articles using a distinctive style. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients, and management.
* Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key employees, top management, and client groups to take the desired action.
* Ability to solve complex problems and deals with a variety of options in complex situations.
* Very strong economics, math, and analytical skills and ability to apply them strategically and in the pursuit of diverse situations. Knowledge of real estate terms, definitions, and real estate analytical methodology. Knowledge of Company financial systems as well as internal and external information sources. Advanced knowledge of computer software and hardware (i.e. Microsoft Office Suite Products).

Department
Fund Accounting Client Servicing Team
The fund accounting client servicing team is responsible for the full consolidation and financial reporting for commingled funds and/or separate accounts. The team fulfills an important function in supplying reliable and complete financial information and gives solicited and unsolicited advice. The team carries out checks on the underlying data of the fund and is responsible for preparing reports for external stakeholders. Within CBRE IA&R the team has broad responsibilities including the preparation of capital call and distribution requests, investment management fee calculation, incentive, or performance fee calculations, providing oversight of JV and property accounting and reporting up to the fund, preparing and distributing quarterly NAV statements, and support as well as produce annual audited financial statements and investor reports for the funds.
