Business Development Specialist (BDS) Wholesaler
Equitable Life Distribution is seeking Internal Wholesaler talent with exceptional customer service abilities and robust technical knowledge to serve and support our Sophisticated Financial Advisors . These individuals will focus on marketing and selling Equitable's Accumulation Continuum suite of products and platforms directly to Financial Advisors. In addition, this niche group of Internal Wholesalers will help move business forward at every step in the sales process, to create an exceptional end-to-end user experience for our target Financial Advisors. Desired candidates will be consultative in their sales technique, coachable, and excited to learn and grow along with our strategy.
Responsibilities include:
* Develop and grow the Advisor base in their territory by prospecting, recruiting, and appointing new advisors to the Equitable Direct Platform, and get them to start doing business with Equitable
* Deliver on sales results by creating an exceptional customer experience by guiding business from submission to commission. Make it easy for sophisticated Advisors to do business with Equitable at every step in the sales process.
* Market Equitable's unique Accumulation Continuum of products and platform and assist financial advisors in transforming their practice to include Asset Location Planning in their business.
* Respond to all Advisors' case design and illustration needs; must also possess the ability to illustrate solutions not only as requested, but also pro-actively offer alternative designs that best meet customers' needs and outcomes.
* Manage all internal relationships on our Advisors' behalf to close more business more quickly; know the status and what is needed for every case in the pipeline, and partner with Case Managers and Underwriters to communicate effectively and expediently with Producers.
* Grow Advisors' repeat business with Equitable and help them grow their business with our unique solutions; approach every conversation with a consultative mindset and willingness to go above and beyond to serve our customers.
Qualifications
Skills required to ensure your success include:
Effective Presentations: Knowledge of effective presentation tools and techniques; ability to present information to groups with the appropriate degree of formality.
Knowledge of Product Line: Knowledge of methodologies, tools and techniques for specific products; ability to develop product line processes and strategies.
Selling: Knowledge of diverse sales tools, tactics and techniques and ability to use these to persuade a person to buy a product or service.
Strategic Sales Planning: Knowledge of sales principles, processes, techniques and tools; ability to develop sales plans that are future-oriented, support business strategy and reflect understanding of emerging, as well as existing, opportunities and markets.
Other Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
* FINRA Series 6, 63 and Life and Health licenses.
* Prior experience as a top-performing Internal Wholesaler or Case Manager experience required.
* 2+ years of experience working with Life Insurance Producers in either the Retail or Independent channel.
* Deep knowledge of the Life Insurance business, including advanced sales , customer service skills and the ability to serve Sophisticated Financial Advisors' needs at every step in the sales process including effectively illustrating life insurance solutions on Equitable's illustration platform
* Knowledgeable in the basics of investment management principles including Portfolio & Wealth Management, Asset classes, Financial Planning, Tax planning, etc
* Proven track record of business and territory management, effective sales forecasting, and activity prioritization
Preferred Qualifications:
* Understanding of Equitable's solutions, product portfolio and illustration capabilities.
* Robust knowledge of the inner workings of Equitable's Home Office, and what is needed to move business forward at every step.
* Ability to successfully manage internal relationships and inspire cross-functional teams to rally around our top Producers.
