Position Title: Market Intelligence School Year Intern

Federated Hermes Internship Program provides students the opportunity to gain “hands on” experience and develop professional skills as well as the ability to network with talented professionals and gain insight into career possibilities within the asset management industry. The program includes a variety of events designed to enhance the internship experience, provide participants with information about Federated Hermes and foster collaboration among their cohort.
Purpose of the Internship:
The Market Intelligence intern is responsible for assisting in the production of timely, accurate analysis and periodic reporting (product analysis, competitive analysis, distribution analysis and asset tables). The intern will also be responsible for the maintenance and metric reporting in SharePoint. With as needed guidance, the intern will be required to collaborate with Market Intelligence team members on various special projects and should be prepared to provide and present relevant data, analysis or outcomes in a professional, easily understood format.
Major Duties:
- Produce management reporting with team metrics from SharePoint and log all activities performed
- Work in partnership with Market Intelligence Analysts to gain basic knowledge of the division’s investment product positioning, marketing campaigns, and thought leadership initiatives
- Produce competitive analyses and provide insights and recommendations to the requestor or team leader
- Read news and articles to keep up to date on Finance and investment industry news and trends
- Network with colleagues in the Market Intelligence, Business Support, and Proposal teams and throughout the company
- Participate in a firm-wide intern “Hack-a-thon”
- Participate in ongoing department training, including product knowledge, presentation skills, and seminars to help develop professional skills and learn about career opportunities within the Market Intelligence team and other departments in the Product Marketing and Management Division.
- Demonstrate ability to learn, utilize and provide informative output from the following database systems: Morningstar Direct, Lipper LANA, SIMfund, iMoneyNet, Market Metrics, eVestment, MARS and certain other proprietary software systems.
Hours/location:
- 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. during the summer, and 15 hours a week during the school year

Explanatory Comments:
- The intern position is based in Pittsburgh and is designed to support the Market Intelligence team
- Emphasis on finance, data management and the importance competitive intelligence may have on product positioning and business development

Position Specifications:
- Pursuing a degree with a concentration in Business, Finance, Marketing, Management Information Systems or equivalent required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products including Word, Excel (including pivot tables) required; MS Teams, and PowerPoint preferred
- Knowledge of Microsoft Power BI preferred
- Knowledge of investment industry and mutual fund terminology preferred
- Experience with databases and large data querying preferred
