The Assistant Portfolio Manager for International Real Estate plays an integral role in the MetLife Investment Management (MIM) Real Estate group. The Assistant Portfolio Manager will oversee certain aspects of MetLife's International commercial mortgage and real estate equity portfolio. The Assistant Portfolio Manager will interact with several constituents, including International Regional Offices, MetLife Real Estate (MRE) leadership, other teams across real estate and Legal.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with International portfolio manager in the expansion of MetLife's International real estate platform.
- Participate in investment committee for local account transactions to build investment acumen.
- Partner with portfolio manager, Legal and other teams in development of new products for International Markets.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop a third-party lending platform outside of the US.
- Assist portfolio manager in the management of US RE Equity structures for international affiliate.
- Independently manage quarterly portfolio review and surveillance process for International.
- Address questions from international offices in relation to Enterprise Risk Committee meetings, Risk Management meetings, transaction queries and ad hoc requests.
- Collaborate with Risk, Research & Analytics team on earnings call prep materials and Office of the CIO requests related to International.
- Manage the income projections process for international real estate and partner with RR&A as needed.
- Coordinate and complete of weekly/quarterly/annual reporting requirements and information requests for local accounts.
- Support IT initiatives and maintain and enhance pipeline reporting and production metrics.

- Strong organizational skills.
- Recognize areas for continuous improvement.
- Developing investment skills to discuss investment thesis with clients.
- Strong Excel /PowerPoint skills to coordinate presentations.
- Excellent project management skills.
Preferred:
- Years of experience: 8-10 years of real estate experience.
- Degree preferred: Master's in Real Estate or Business Administration.
