To support our growth into the Southeast, we have created a new position for an Analyst, Investments to join our Investments Team assisting with the underwriting, due diligence and closing of property and multifamily acquisitions and dispositions. This position works closely with the team to ensure the successful execution of the company’s investment strategy and collaborates with various internal groups, such as asset management, research, finance, accounting and operations.
You are a good fit if you have real estate analyst experience, preferably working in an investment or brokerage environment, have strong analytical and Excel skills and like to work in a team environment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conducts all financial analysis conducted in the assessment, evaluation, and execution of acquisitions and dispositions of assets.
- Conducts complex and dynamic pro forma models and sensitivity analyses to project cash flows and investment returns conducted by Investment and Asset Management personnel.
- Participates in coordination of due diligence and closing efforts on all acquisitions and dispositions of assets.
- Assists in the disposition of portfolio properties, including preparing marketing packages to submit to brokers, reviewing and commenting on broker prepared offering memorandum, performing analyses on offers received, addressing buyer inquires during due diligence, and resolves issues.
- Prepares tenant notices and other items required by purchase and sale agreement for closings.
- Prepares prorations and settlement statements for accuracy and completeness.
- Participates in post-closing efforts as needed on property & portfolio acquisitions to ensure for a seamless transition from Investment division to Asset Management, minimizing disruption to property cash flow.
- Develops memoranda for internal Investment Committee and Board of Directors to evaluate potential transactions.
- Coordinates efforts with Asset Management, Research, Finance, Accounting, & Operations to ensure accuracy and that materials are sufficient to allow for executive decisions making.
- Promotes WashREIT locally through participation in real estate industry organizations.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field experience in residential real estate
- Experience in residential real estate investments, asset management, investment sales or brokerage environment.
- Possess a curiosity and interest to continuously seek improvements in work processes that will add value to the organization.
- Demonstrated and organizational management skills, including strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service orientation and ability to champion through daily interactions.
