PROPERTY ACCOUNTANT , MIT Investment Management Company (MITIMCo)-Real Estate Accounting and Finance Team , to support the real estate controller in overseeing day-to-day accounting- and finance-related activities for the operating properties managed by Cambridge Real Estate. Responsibilities include reviewing monthly operating property financial reporting prepared by third-party administrators to maintain the integrity of real estate sub-ledgers; ensuring completeness of monthly records/reporting; reviewing yearly recovery calculations for assigned properties; preparing bad debt analysis; preparing monthly performance upload; assisting with coordination of the bi-annual real estate tax and yearly PILOT tax payments; preparing lender financial compliance reporting; aiding with the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly reforecasts; assisting with preparation of schedules and supporting documentation for annual audits; monthly review and reconciliation of operating capital costs; compiling property level financial information for annual appraisal process; assisting with the asset transition process to ensure capitalization and expense activity is appropriately tracked; participating in the review and validation of lease abstracts; ensuring proper treatment is recorded in the accounting systems for acquisitions, dispositions and asset transfers; assisting with planning and integrating systems, data, and reporting to create efficiencies; and assisting with special projects and other tasks as assigned.

REQUIRED : bachelor's degree in finance- or accounting-related field; at least three years' related experience, preferably in property accounting; self-motivation, initiative, and comfort suggesting process improvements/new ideas/solutions; strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and knowledge of other relevant technology; excellent analytical, organizational, and time-management skills; and ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
