Entry level Analysts to help investment teams further integrate sustainable tools, such as SustainEx, CONTEXT and ThemEx into their investment processes. Ideally, the individuals will have had previous exposure to sustainability and how best it can be integrated into portfolios.
We’re a global investment manager. We help institutions, intermediaries and individuals around the world invest money to meet their goals, fulfil their ambitions, and prepare for the future.
We have around 4,000 people on six continents. And we’ve been around for over 200 years, but keep adapting as society and technology changes. What doesn’t change is our commitment to helping our clients, and society, prosper.
What you’ll do
The SIA will be expected to learn all aspects of the investment desks approach to sustainability. Understanding companies and critical sustainability issues will be a key part of the role. The SIA will work directly with the desk analysts and portfolio managers to ensure that sustainable tools and analytics are suitable to meet their requirements. This will be applicable at the country, sector and company level.
Much time will be spent with the experienced investors and working alongside the Sustainable Investment team given the importance of sustainability both internally and externally. To do this, it will be key to understand our tools, in particular SustainEx, and to assist in its development of how we better incorporate more bottom-up fundamental analysis into the factors driving SustainEx scores. To facilitate that understanding and development, the SIAs will initially focus a significant proportion of their time on working under the close coordination of the Sustainable Investment team, on topics agreed within the SIG.
The evolution of our internal sustainable tools, and the surrounding analytics, will be important for the next stage of our development. As awareness of sustainability for our clients increases, so does the importance of how we demonstrate our sustainable credentials externally. Given this, we also expect that this role will work with product management colleagues to enhance how we communicate with our clients via analytics and reporting.
The Sustainable Investment Analyst will report into individual teams’ respective Heads of Research.

The knowledge, experience and qualifications that will help
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong independence of thought as well as an ability to think creatively and pragmatically from an investment perspective. The sustainability space is evolving rapidly so a willingness to consider new ideas, models and tools while retaining a firm hand on basic economic principles is key.
What you’ll be like
The SIA’s responsibilities will link directly to one investment desk but also play a key role in connecting across teams to peers in other investment teams as well as to the Sustainable Investment teams. The SIAs should be happy developing strong relationships with PM’s, Analysts, members of the product and client reporting teams alike. An openness to new ideas, techniques and different points of view will be key.
