JOB SUMMARY The Senior Business Analyst position for the CBRE Business Analytics group acts as a project manager and technical lead for business intelligence projects focused on real estate data analyses for CBRE's clients. Through data warehousing, visualization, and examination, this position helps our clients optimize their operations across all service lines: facilities management, project management, finance, portfolio administration, cost forecasting, etc. A senior analyst works closely with our clients and database technical team to automate data collection from source operational systems, aggregate and standardize the information in a data warehouse, and develop Tableau dashboards that leverage the warehouse to generate meaningful client insights. Additionally, the CBRE Business Analytics group helps our clients develop budgets, benchmark facility operating costs, and predict upcoming capital requirements. A senior analyst leads projects to collect the requisite client real estate data, build and refine cost models using CBRE tools, and present a meaningful financial story in formal reports and briefings. The ideal candidate possesses a broad skill set. Required skills include: strong technical capabilities with data manipulation and data modeling; advanced Tableau knowledge; extensive project management experience; and client-facing communications. Experience in the corporate real estate outsourcing industry is strongly preferred. Minimum of five years of experience. Advanced degree not required but preferred. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPerform both technical lead and project manager responsibilities for business intelligence and facility cost analyses projects for a variety of corporate and government clients. Create, maintain and optimize creative data visualizations and dashboards (primarily in Tableau) to derive actionable intelligence. Aggregation and analysis of quantitative data; forecast and trending of performance data. Process mapping and efficiency analysis. Lead on problem solving team that develops recommendations based on data interpretations. Provide subject matter expertise on data-related processes and analyses. Collect key financial and real estate portfolio data from clients for inclusion in cost models. Develop and refine facility cost models for operating and maintain a real estate portfolio using CBRE proprietary software and other analytical tools. Prepare formal written reports describing project methodology, scope, key assumptions, and results. Present progress and results to clients (both in-person and virtually) and collects feedback for revisions. Miscellaneous technical support for marketing materials, and data support for CBRE software systems. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESNo formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. Provides informal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to coworkers. May lead project teams and/or plan and supervise assignments of lower level employees. Highly skilled in dashboard design and development. Advanced Tableau skills are required. Proficiency in database technologies such as Microsoft Access or SQL Server is preferred. FINANCIAL AND STATISTICAL KNOWLEDGERequires basic knowledge of financial and statistical terms and principles. REASONING ABILITYAbility to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex data sets. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills. OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIESAdvanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite Products, particularly Excel. Comfortable working independently and collaboratively.
