The Software Engineer acts in a lead technical role providing technical guidance and consultation with application teams, clients, and Engineering Managers for their technology domain environments including but not limited to cloud, middleware, operating systems, applications, Software-as-a-Service, and Platform-as-a-Service products. Design, code, test, debug and document programs using Agile development practices. Provides the strategy and design for projects associated with their technology domain including, upgrades and deployments. Utilizes advanced technologies and methods to integrate their technology domain with other technology domains, enabling the creation of new or expanded heterogeneous environments. Develops new documentation and departmental technical procedures. Directs the gathering of performance statistics to assist in determining hardware and communication tools needed to support projected transaction volumes, response time and system availability targets. As an escalation point, provides guidance and direction to less experienced staff in resolution of highly complex technical problems. Leads projects and manages the work of less experienced staff. Assures quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported technology domain. We are currently looking to fill Software Engineer position(s) on the Wealth and Investment Management Technology Team supporting the Wells Fargo Advisors Line of Business. This position will be on the Planning Tools team which delivers Advice and Planning solutions for our Financial Advisors which are critical to the Wells Fargo Advisors line of business. This position will be developing the User Interface, Middle Tier and data tier for the Advice and Planning suite of applications. This role will analyze business requirements, design and write technical specifications to design or redesign applications. This role will also work closely with our Business and Technology teams on many fast paced projects along with working closely with our infrastructure, architecture and other technology teams to design the solutions. This role will be split between troubleshooting technical issues and working with our business partners for all future enhancements to our systems. Roles and Responsibilities: This position can be based at the Wells Fargo site location in Saint Louis, MO; Minneapolis, MN; Charlotte, NC or Glen Allen, VA. This position is NOT ELIGIBLE for relocation assistance. Prospective candidates should reside in and/or around the target site locations or be able to commute to either of these site for employment.
