CAREER OPPORTUNITY #: 8129 POSITION TITLE: SENIOR BUSINESS SYSTEMS ANALYST DEPARTMENT: BISD-IM-PORTFOLIO ANALYSIS SERVICES POSITION SPECIFICATIONS: - Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Science, or equivalent work experience required
- Five to seven years of systems/business analysis experience required
- Experience in financial services or securities industry with knowledge of investment products preferred. Specifically, experience with Exchange Traded Funds (ETF) concepts, knowledge of product and workflows
- Experience on multiple team-oriented systems projects preferred
- Experience working with relational databases especially in the use of SQL preferred
- Knowledge and experience using Excel VBA preferred
- Experience with modeling techniques (e.g., data modeling, process modeling) and tools preferred
- Experience with dashboards, portals, and reporting tools (e.g., SharePoint, Microsoft Power BI, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Microsoft Business Intelligence (BI) Solutions) for information presentation and delivery preferred
MAJOR DUTIES: - Solves business problems by performing business analysis, preparing specifications and/or designs, providing project management, and testing, as needed, for relevant business process modifications, applications, and/or reporting enhancements
- Works closely and collaboratively with the business unit to define business requirements and provide consultative support as needed regarding applications and business processes
- Analyzes and specifies logical data models, workflows, wireframes and/or other types of designs for relatively smaller systems or components of a larger system
- Prepares business and functional requirements documents and reviews functional system designs
- Leads meetings with technical or business audiences and present ideas to project teams
- May assist in establishing functional standards and conventions for applications
- Initiates communication with technology staff and business unit staff/management as required to facilitate the most effective and efficient solution to a problem
- Determine and prepare estimates for completion of assigned tasks
- Provide hands-on support and training, as needed, to business clients
- Mentor other business analysts and provide guidance to the team
