Essential Functions: Job PurposeThe Sr. Treasury Analyst, Endowment Management participates in conducting the financial administrative and management activities associated with the University's endowment fund. Activities include analyzing, recording investment activity, maintaining and reporting on the Common Trust Fund (CTF) in order to meet established investment and administrative objectives. Oversees the recording and verification of treasury financial data in accordance with University policies and procedures and regulatory guidelines, which includes monthly, quarterly and annual investment journal entries, reports, statements and reconciliations. This position reports to the Associate Director, Endowment Management.Essential FunctionsAssists in the financial administrative and management activities of the University's endowment investment activity. Activities include the preparation of journal entries to account for investment activities, preparation of endowment accounting and reports, and assistance in monitoring other elements of the endowments CTF. Assists in the preparation of fiscal year-end reports including endowment investment financial statements and footnote disclosures. Prepares analyzes and reconciles endowment financial transactions and reports to the accounting system, bank, custodian and investment manager records. Verifies accuracy and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, university policies and procedures and divisional objectives. Identifies and researches discrepancies and corrects as necessary. Reviews CTF investment activities, calculates purchase of units and income distributions, updates investment, income, gain/loss and fees schedules and prepares related accounting entries for income distributions.Assists in the preparation of annual surveys and annual and ad hoc requests for investment data. Assists in the preparation of tax and various regulatory reports. Serves as support and back-up for the University's cash management and debt functions. This includes daily cash positioning to ensure funds are available to meet the cash requirements of the University. Provides assistance with debt service administration, including payment processing, analysis, reporting and benchmarking. Assist in monitoring and guiding University merchant credit card account owners and maintaining Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance standards. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Education Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or related field from an accredited college or university is required. Preferred education in Accounting through intermediate level, and nine to twelve credit hours of finance courses.Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) or other advanced certification or post-graduate education highly desirable.Experience Minimum two - three years of treasury operations experience required. Experience with accounting and/or treasury operations and procedures in an entity with large and complex accounting/treasury operations. Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesReasonable knowledge and understanding of University policies and procedures or policies and procedures in a large and complex institution. Knowledge of endowment management and U.S. financial institution processes preferred.Working knowledge administrative software system; Banner preferred.
