MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND FORMAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s Degree required
• Advanced degree and/or progress toward CFA is preferred.
• 2+ years of experience as an equity-oriented buyside or sellside research analyst, or
• 2+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity, consulting, or a similar field, or
• 3+ years of experience in a financial and/or accounting role such as corporate strategy, corporate development or planning, investor relations, etc.
• Experience in stocks across sectors and market capitalizations, particularly “SMID” caps is valuable, but not necessary.
• Experience in the healthcare sector and particularly sub-industries like biotech is valuable, but not necessary.

• Intellectual flexibility and nimbleness as required by Thornburg’s global generalist process
• The willingness and ability to express an opinion and make recommendations with imperfect or incomplete information, as supported by a synthesis of available facts
• A willingness to change opinions as facts change or new information is obtained, and the comfort to admit mistakes and learn from them
