CBRE Clarion uses the portfolio accounting software of Advent Software, Inc. called Advent Portfolio Exchange (APX) and the order management system Charles River Investment Management System.
Operations Department Background
The Securities Operations group consists of a trade settlement and portfolio accounting sub-teams. The position available will be assigned tasks from both disciplines. The portfolio accounting group is responsible for timely and accurate reconciliation of all account transactions to custodian records. The portfolio accounting group reports cash and equity securities positions once reconciled to the portfolio management team. Additionally, the group provides reconciled information to the marketing / client service teams monthly so that client reports can be produced. The trade settlement group is responsible for the timely and accurate matching and communication of trades to service providers. The trade settlement team is also responsible for the corporate action and proxy voting processes. Currently, there are 4 team members within the Securities Operations group.
Job Description and Responsibilities
Position would be in the securities operations group
Position would report to the Manager of Securities Operations
Performing position reconciliations on a daily basis to the records of the custodian, administrator or additional third party
Perform full month end reconciliations to custodian records
Daily processing and reporting of cash flows in mutual fund accounts
Daily production of pricing reports (price comparison and stale price
Generation and communication of reporting requested by client, administrators or the client's custodian
Trade settlement duties including trade matching, communication of trades to custodians, and end of day reporting
Processing of corporate action responses and proxy voting elections
Broker commission reconciliations
Reconciliation between Portfolio Accounting and Order Management Systems
Retrieval of bank statements from custodian online products
Retrieval, verification and posting of corporate action and dividend information for account holdings
Other ad hoc duties may be required which fit into the Securities Operations group
Position requires person who works well under pressure and can multi-task various projects and responsibilities effectively
Position requires excellent communication skills for daily contact with custodians and with internal 'clients' such as the marketing team and portfolio management team
Position requires an extremely detailed individual whose work contains little to no errors and who is extremely organized
Job Education and Experience
Strong Microsoft Excel skills
BS or BA degree with a major of Business Administration, Accounting or Finance Recent graduates from college are welcome to apply
