Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline required or 10+ years of middle office operations experience required
MBA in business, finance, information systems, or related field of study preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in middle office operations experience required
Project management / delivery experience in a leadership capacity required
Supervisory or management experience
Understanding of data management practices in the financial services industry required
Advanced Excel & Power Point skills
This position organizes, plans and successfully implements the Middle Office department’s projects and initiatives that require collaboration with Administration, Technology, Compliance, Investor Services, Product Management, Sales and Front Office Investment Management. This role focuses on Middle Office Operations, ensuring key stakeholders are involved in project development as well as managing business resource capacity for the IMO department before project implementation. This position leads the Middle Office teams through execution of projects, new business initiatives, strategic initiatives, regulatory initiatives, industry initiatives and changes to process management. In addition to the management of projects, the Director of Middle Office Integration maintains business metrics and ‘Key Performance Indicators’ for the operating unit, participates in Client Due Diligence activities and supports RFP inquires.
Primary responsibilities of this role include personnel management and developing organizational talent within Middle Office Integration
Provide Strategic Business Leadership for managing and monitoring business resource capacity (Subject Matter Experts) needed for project development and implementation
Initiate, define, and lead the most complex projects of strategic importance to the business, across multiple domain areas: budgeting, business planning, risk identification and mitigation, regulatory compliance, communications, policy development, change management and process improvement.
Lead engagements and/or execution of projects across the company, including resource allocation; alignment of multi-discipline project teams; partnerships across the firm, with outsource providers and strategic partners; internal technology stakeholders and Project Managers.
Conceptualize and develop consistent and transparent communications and presentations to project stakeholders.
Present business case solutions to senior management.
Direct the development of policies and guidelines affecting Middle Office operations and implement underlying procedures to support the policies.
Develop and oversee operational infrastructure through evaluating middle office technology and workflow solutions to standardize operational services.
Establish robust business metrics and monitors business resource capacity for the department. Maintains ‘Key Performance Indicators’ for the operating unit and benchmarks against industry standards. Identify discretionary ways to lower expenses while maintaining or exceeding the quality expectations. Develop strategies to improve the quality and/or productivity of Middle Office processes and facilitate similar goals in internal client areas.
Facilitate and support inquiries from Federated Hermes RFP group.
Prepare for and participate in Client Due Diligence activities in conjunction with Federated Hermes IMA group.
Collaborate with Middle Office and all stakeholder teams to ensure all operational requirements are clearly understood and delivered.
Maintain an active relationship with industry groups and vendors to keep abreast of products, workflows, technology and regulatory factors driving the industry.
Manage vendor relationships as required.
