The Treasury Management Office is responsible for managing the University's cash flow. It includes Cash Management, Investment Services, Bursar and Student Financial Aid Disbursements. Cash Management includes maintaining and managing banking relationships, issuing guidance on cash and banking matters; developing cash flow forecasts; managing the centralized collection of tuition and fees; and prudently investing the University's working capital. Investment Service includes management of the University's Investment Pool, ongoing due diligence of existing and prospective managers, administration, accounting and client service for the pool participants.
This position reports to the Associate Director of Cash Management within the Treasury Management Office. The Financial Analyst performs financial and investment analysis work to support the prudent management of Cash and Investment. Duties include, but not be limited to the following:
Review and maintain financial/investment schedules and models and conduct financial analysis.
Support in the development and implementation of spending policy, including all related analysis, reporting and communications.
Research and assists in conducting financial due diligence for selecting prospective managers, as well as other vendors.
Updates portfolio due to changes in asset allocation and re-balancing efforts.
Review and reconcile monthly and quarterly investment performance reports.
Perform administration and client service for cash management and investment portfolio functions.
Review and update daily bank and investment activities.
Analyze financial schedules to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Prepare various financial and management reports for senior management review.
Serve as a backup to others in the Cash Management and Investment Service team.
Perform related ad-hoc reporting and analysis and participate in other special projects as assigned.
Bachelor's Degree required.
Two (2) years of related financial planning and analysis, corporate finance, investment management, or other related financial or business experience.
Master's degree preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
Experience with ERP Management System preferred
Working knowledge of New York State Statewide Financial System (SFS), New York City Financial Management System (FMS), online banking platforms such as Citi Business Online, Citi Direct and My State Street preferred
Must be able to work effectively and multi-task in a demanding and fast-paced team environment
Must have a high degree of accuracy and be detail-oriented
Proven ability to work on tight deadlines and deliver quality results
Strong organizational and project management skills
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
