The Investment Office for Boston Children's Hospital, formed in 2010, manages approximately $5.5 billion in assets in line with the risk tolerance and performance requirements necessary to support the organization's mission. The experienced team, structured as generalists, takes responsibility for the portfolio while investing across the entire investment spectrum. The BCH Investment Office seeks a highly motivated junior professional to provide analytical, research and investment process, and support to the team. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of academic achievement, modeling skills, success working in a team environment, and a desire to learn about institutional investing.
The Investment Analyst shall be responsible for:
Operating as an integral member of the investment team by supporting the senior members of the team on the full spectrum of evaluating both prospective and existing investments and managers.
Providing analytical support across the portfolio, particularly in the areas of
Monitoring and assessing existing portfolio investments including performance, risk/exposures and news flow across asset classes.
Assisting in new manager diligence by participating in calls and meetings, researching the opportunity set, and assessing the overall performance.
Participating in fund manager meetings and help in conducting the assessment processes (i.e. writing summaries of meetings for internal distribution)
Contributing to ad hoc research projects
Preparing exhibits and other presentation materials for investment committee and Board meetings
Developing investment skills and contribute to the investment dialogue among the team.
Providing general support to the team on day-to-day tasks.
In order to qualify you must have:
Demonstrated academic ability (BA or BS degree).
One to two years post-college experience in investment banking, banking, consulting or investing.
Strong interpersonal and communication (both oral and written) skills.
Passion for investing with some basic knowledge of institutional investment management.
Solid Microsoft Office skills (PowerPoint, Excel, and Word).
Ability to handle multiple tasks at once with accuracy and attention to detail.
Unquestionable ethical standards.
Willingness to travel as necessary.
