Department: 492001 - Foundations Accounting & Inves Location: Raleigh, NC Essential Job Duties: The Operations Analyst position will provide assistance to the Director of Investments and both Investment Analysts in the following manner: - Provide specialized data management for various software and portfolios, including investment management software applications for five separate investment portfolios
- Serve as the investment office data steward for all technology used and any future investment software acquired
- Gather, organize, summarize, and analyze data of five investment portfolios within prescribed quarterly timeframes.
- Prepare operational due diligence reports as it relates to all existing as well as potential managers across all portfolios.
- Assist Director of Investments with creation of quarterly board presentations and board materials, including retreats.
- Serve as primary contact with all managers, due diligence itinerary, quarterly reporting, and any special requests.
- Assist Director of Investments with cash flow management of private assets.
- Prepare all NCSIF Board and Committee meeting minutes.
Other Work/Responsibilities: - Complete assigned projects in a timely and accurate manner, conforming to specifications provided by the Vice Chancellor, Finance and Administration, the Associate Vice Chancellor, Finance and University Treasurer, the Director of Investments, and the various Foundation, Investment & Endowment Boards.
- Assist the Director of Investments with other special projects as needed.
- Attend weekly investment team meetings
Minimum Experience/Education: Bachelor degree in a closely related field such as accounting, banking, finance, business and/or economics; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience. Required Qualifications: - Ability to work effectively under pressure with minimal direction.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are necessary as successful candidates will be expected to communicate effectively with managers, and or Boards.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with board members, departmental staff, campus customers, University and foundations management and external investment management and consultants
Preferred Qualifications: - Three to five years of investment-related experience.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred in Business or Finance or a closely related quantitative field such as accounting, banking, finance, business, or economics.
- Prefer experience in an operational environment, or environment with a broad range of responsibilities as it relates to investments.
- Exposure to various investment performance packages such as Bloomberg, FactSet, Morningstar, Dynamo and Alternative Soft is preferred.
- Prefer advanced Microsoft Office skills, specifically expertise in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint as well as a working knowledge of Adobe and or InDesign.
