OPERATIONS ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT , MIT Investment Company (MITIMCo) , to support approximately fifteen to twenty members of MITIMCo's operations team, which supports all non-investment decision-making functions. Will serve as a key player in providing comprehensive, high-level administrative support to the technology, project management, accounting, and legal functions, requiring direct communication with a wide variety of investment managers, investment administrators, peer institutions, vendors, MIT management, and faculty. Will take initiative to resolve problems/issues by interpreting policies and collaborating with colleagues; synthesize, evaluate, and communicate information clearly; evaluate tasks/processes with an eye toward efficiency; schedule meetings with varying complexities and multiple resources; respond to internal/external inquiries; support development activities; assist with document and presentation edits as necessary; process invoices through accounts payable; and support data capture initiatives within the operations team. The position will involve interacting with high level executives and involvement in challenging projects as assigned on an ad-hoc basis.
REQUIRED : high school diploma or its equivalent; at least five years' administrative/related experience; excellent computer skills, including fluency with Outlook email and calendaring, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel; strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills; initiative; ability to represent the work area and the larger MIT community; comfort interacting with high-level executives; and discretion and judgment with confidential information. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision; set priorities and juggle multiple activities simultaneously, often under pressure and with frequent interruptions; resolve complex problems in a thorough and timely manner; and suggest and implement improvements/refinements to improve the overall effectiveness of the team.
