(NYSE: FII) one of the largest investment managers in the United States, with $460 billion in assets under management, is seeking a Sr. Tax Analyst to join the collaborative Fund Tax team in our downtown Pittsburgh headquarters. Hone your skills while performing compliance related duties including the initial review of corporate actions, tax return preparation, and tax related research. Demonstrate your attention to detail and analytical abilities while analyzing financial data and/or general ledger accounts to calculate tax adjustments. What you can expect:
Preparing local, state and federal tax returns for Federated mutual fund
Identifying and analyzing fund financial data and/or general ledger accounts, determining and calculating tax adjustments required for the preparation of tax returns
Performing periodic testing of specific IRS requirements to ensure compliance
Performing technical research relating to a variety of tax issues
Performing initial review of corporate actions and concluding on the proper tax treatment
Providing technical support to Federated associates and external auditor personnel regarding tax-related inquiries and technical issues
What we’re looking for:
Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 12 credits in Accounting required
Minimum of 4 years of professional tax experience in public accounting or a combination of public accounting and corporate tax experience required; or 5 years’ experience in the accounting/financial administration aspects of mutual funds
Strong math and analytical skills with a clear understanding of debit/credits required
CPA certification or significant progress towards attainment preferred
Knowledge of tax principles and policies applicable to financial services industry, mutual funds and/or securities preferred
Exposure to review or in-charge responsibilities preferred
Compliance and technical tax research skills, including practical application of tax law/findings preferred
Intellectual curiosity to keep up with changing tax regulations
