HEAD OF FINANCIAL AND PERFORMANCE REPORTING , MIT Investment Management Company (MITIMCo)-Operations Team , to lead the Finance and Accounting team and be a key member of both the Valuation and Operations Management committees. Responsibilities include financial reporting for MIT and affiliates (RE LLCs, FOFs, plans, etc.), including audit and tax issue coordination; implementing and maintaining a performance reporting system for investments on an open book basis; maintaining comprehensive knowledge of US GAAP provisions and emerging matters, particularly with respect to investment companies; serving as a liaison to MIT's controller's department; acting as key participant in generating and reviewing financial information found in MIT's entities under audit; working with technology group to streamline posting of external providers' real estate, life income fund, and investment accounting information to primary ledger; consulting with MIT's tax department on finance- and accounting-related tax issues; valuation analysis of private investments and real estate, including overseeing performance-based fee calculations for separate accounts and single investor funds; evaluating monetization opportunities for illiquid investments; partnering with Global Investment staff on financial/accounting analysis of active/prospective external funds; and participating in operational due diligence over external fund managers.
REQUIRED : B.S. in accounting, finance, or related field; eight years' asset management accounting experience (liquid and illiquid strategies); excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, negotiation, managerial, and leadership skills; expert-level knowledge of GAAP accounting requirements and tax rules as applied to investment companies and private fund structures; experience managing performance reporting; strong Microsoft Office skills; and keen judgment. Must be able to resolve ambiguous, complex, and multivariable problems; organize/manage multiple projects; and prioritize competing needs. CPA strongly preferred. Understanding of real estate operating and development activities a plus. Job #16877-Q
