Job Description and Responsibilities:
The available position is for a Corporate Accountant within the Finance Department of CBRE Clarion. The successful candidate will report directly to the CBRE Clarion Controller. This position will involve the following responsibilities:
Monthly close process for corporate entities
Preparing budget to actual variance analysis
General ledger account balance reconciliations (along with supporting workpapers)
SOX requirements for the processes, workflows, and controls
Journal entry preparation
Support for annual audits and tax return preparation
Budgeting and forecasting
Client billing and revenue recognition
Consolidated fund reporting
Foreign currency revaluation
Effective problem solving and troubleshooting, quality assurance and accuracy
Complete tasks with high level of motivation and sense of urgency
Work well under pressure and can multi-task various projects and responsibilities
Excellent communication skills
Extremely detailed individual whose work contains little to no errors
Ability to accomplish a large number of deadlines with little to no supervision
Ability to work beyond typical business hours when required (i.e. monthly close and year end).
Preferred Job Requirements/Qualifications:
BS or BA degree with a major of accounting
3-5 years' work experience with public accounting firm and/ or corporate accounting
Strong knowledge of accounting concepts, trial balances, financial statements, and consolidations
Strong Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables
Experience with PeopleSoft G/L system a plus
Knowledge of investment accounting (equities) concepts and investment funds (mutual funds and private collective funds) a plus
