Job Description
PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT ANALYST/ASSOCIATE, REAL ESTATE, MIT Investment Management Company (MITIMCo)-Cambridge Real Estate (CRE) Team, to assume highly visible position and work closely with senior management and members of the asset management, transactions, development, and legal teams. The CRE team serves as an investor, owner, operator, and developer of a high-profile real estate portfolio located exclusively in Cambridge. Responsibilities include creating and maintaining complex asset-level and portfolio financial models with scenarios and sensitivities to analyze various operational and capital events; synthesizing asset-level data to derive key characteristics and risks of the portfolio as a whole; maintaining the portfolio reporting needs for senior management; participating in key discussions regarding overall portfolio investment strategies and performance enhancement; aiding with annual appraisals and valuation processes and calculating key asset and portfolio performance metrics and trends; identifying and implementing opportunities for improved performance and efficiencies using innovative technology and/or standardized tools/processes; and completing ad hoc tasks and taking ownership of portfolio knowledge and analytics.
REQUIRED: bachelor's degree; two years' experience in real estate, investment banking, investment sales, finance, or related field; comprehensive knowledge of real estate fundamentals and value drivers; understanding of real estate finance modeling techniques (DCF, NPV, IRR, cap rates); excellent quantitative, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills; advanced-level knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint; ability and desire to work on and collaborate within a team; and meticulous attention to detail.
