The team is also responsible for coverage of Fund of Funds markets and managers across asset classes. With most of the team primarily located in California, all team members work closely with colleagues, managers, and other industry participants across geographies.
Investment Associates complete an in-depth training program and receive ongoing training and mentorship from senior Investment Associates and Investment Directors. As expertise and experience are critical for maximizing an IA's time at C|A, we are looking for candidates who are interested in growing with our Investment Team for a minimum of 2-3 years.
Job Responsibilities Aid senior team members in forming house opinions on investment opportunities through ongoing qualitative and quantitative research and analysis. Utilize common analytical frameworks and develop unique analyses to assess secondaries opportunities and managers, as well as funds of funds. Areas of evaluation include organization, investment strategy, performance, fund terms, current portfolio positions, and other key attributes. Help source, evaluate, and monitor investment opportunities. Participate in meetings with general partners, portfolio managers, and other industry professionals. Complete written research utilized by our clients to support investment decisions. This includes concise commentaries summarizing meetings, in-depth due diligence and investment memos and other periodic research including white papers exploring current topics of interest in the secondaries and fund of funds industry. Complete analytical research on secondary transactions including assessment of underlying assets at the fund and company level Conduct reference calls with fund managers, limited partners, portfolio company management, and other industry participants. Serve as a resource to colleagues seeking current information on investment opportunities, including data and analysis, comparisons across fund managers, and the opinion of the research team.
Bachelor's degree (any major) with a record of achievement. Strong, demonstrated interest in investments. Demonstrated command of and interest in financial modeling. Strong analytical, quantitative, and Excel skills required. Ability and willingness to engage in conversation with internal and external parties, including senior investment managers. Demonstrated command of written communication and strong business writing skills. Demonstrated leadership, integrity and initiative. Willingness to travel occasionally, including internationally. Ability to work both independently and in a team under tight deadlines. Candidates MUST be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship or restriction
