The incumbent is responsible for the management and the profitability of the deposit, loan, or cash management product line or group of products within Private Banking. The position is responsible for the management of the deposit, loan, or cash management product line including revenue generation, risk management, product development planning and profitability. The position must integrate the demands, risks, and competition of varied markets, channels and geographies to develop product solutions in support of sales -- both in-market and nationally, as required, and to meet needs of targeted marketplace customer segments.
A deep and thorough knowledge of industry trends and emerging technical capabilities is required in making strategic product decisions. In addition, it is imperative that the group continue to monitor the competitive landscape in an effort to offer the best of breed products and services to the wealth segment that expects its financial institution to be leading edge. Ability to work closely with systems, operations and technology is imperative to successfully plan, develop and implement new product offerings.
Ability to define, analyze and solve problems. Able to work to demanding deadlines. Experience with managing technology priorities. Ability to explain products to significant clients and prospects. A deep understanding of the organization and other key business lines in order to work effectively to bring product ideas to fruition that require input and expertise from areas outside of your direct responsibility.
The Product and Profitability Manager would interact regularly with the front line sales team to train on new products or product enhancements. This area provides business requirements for the technical development teams and would be intimately involved in building the business justification and pricing models for the banking products and services.
Refined interpersonal skills necessary to accomplish goals through others, including employees, peers, and other business/functional areas of the Company. The demonstrated ability to lead ad hoc and structured teams in successful achievement of goals within established time parameters. Excellent written communications skills and public speaking skills are mandatory. Be highly self-motivated, yet able to work as an effective member of a team and in a broader cross-departmental matrixed environment. They must be able to demonstrate a creative, innovative approach to prior product management work, be highly competent with all general workplace software (Email, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. MBA preferred. 7 year experience. 5 - 10 years preferred.
