LEGAL ASSISTANT , MIT Investment Management Company (MITIMCo)-Legal and Compliance Department , to provide day-to-day administrative support for all members of the Legal and Compliance Team in servicing the legal needs of MITIMCo Operations, Global Investment staff, Real Estate Team, and illiquid gifts and estates officer. Will support the Accounting and Finance team as needed. Will assist with developing and improving workflows, data management, and tracking deadlines; complete a first review of select legal contracts and approvals; process documents for execution and filing; monitor electronic and physical mail; direct inquiries and tasks to appropriate staff; digitally tag and file correspondence and documents; create matter profiles for new investments, real estate transactions, and trusts and estate; enter investment, real estate, and vendor contract terms and conditions in relevant software systems and communicate with staff to ensure appropriate compliance/monitoring; assist with managing corporate entities used for real estate and investment management purposes; monitor group calendar and update critical dates; download, distribute, and file documents from external investment manager portals; prepare, distribute, and collect anti-money laundering and related documents and tax forms; facilitate billing management and relationship development and maintenance for legal service providers; perform administrative tasks/functions, e.g., meeting management, travel, etc.; and provide overflow support to other administrative assistants.
REQUIRED : at least five years' related experience; strong Microsoft Office skills; track record of working for multiple attorneys in a dynamic work environment; experience with legal documents, investment management, and real estate management/development; keen judgment; strong communication and writing skills; meticulous attention to detail; and ability to prioritize work, meet tight deadlines, work under pressure, respect confidentiality, and adjust to shifting priorities.
