Our Franklin Equity Global Growth team is seeking a growth-oriented Portfolio Manager to join a high-performing team focused primarily on managing global and non-US separate accounts with nearly $6 billion in large cap assets under management. This person will report directly to the strategies lead PM and Head of Research.
What are the core responsibilities for this Portfolio Manager?
The Portfolio Manager is responsible for all equity investment activities including evaluating and selecting potential investments, managing designated portfolios, and communicating the investment team's investment philosophy, process and current strategy. As a member of the investment team, the Portfolio Manager will actively contribute to the investment decision-making process, meet with clients, prospects, and/or intermediaries to explain the investment philosophy, process, and performance of the specific investment products; and to provide updates on overall financial market performance, economic trends and the team's investment outlook. Ideally the candidate would have experience managing higher risk, concentrated equity strategies and experience investing in global mid-cap growth oriented companies.
What are some of the responsibilities that will help define success in this role?
Manage assigned portfolios according to stated investment objectives and client preferences. Maintain fluency in portfolio construction process.
Conduct research on securities and industries, as needed, to incorporate into investment decisions.
Act as a spokesperson for the team's investment philosophy, process and strategy in support of winning new portfolio mandates.
Act as conduit between the investment team and distribution channels to support client acquisition efforts
Meet with key decision makers at existing clients to provide periodic portfolio reviews and updates.
Qualifications What do you have that would make you an ideal candidate?
Minimum of 3 years as a Portfolio Manager with global experience
BA or BS required, MBA and/or CFA preferred
Demonstrated experience in using fundamental research and modeling techniques to drive stock selection
Intellectual persistence to tackle hard problems and develop insights from multiple angles
Strong problem solving and analytical thinking skills
Solid verbal and written communications skills
Strong presentation skills with the ability to articulate all facets of the investment process and strategy on behalf of investment team
Effective relationship management skills and demonstrated credibility with investment team and distribution teams.
Ability to support business development and client retention efforts
Ability to work well in a collaborative environment
