Position Information: The UC Riverside Foundation is a nonprofit corporation [a 501(c)(3)] through which philanthropic resources flow to UCR. The Director-Controller, UC Riverside Foundation (DC-UCRF) supports the efforts of the Foundation in meeting the needs of the campus. Duties include oversight responsibility for all financial, accounting and investing operations for the foundation. Incumbent serves as the Associate Treasurer of the UC Riverside Foundation while staffing the Finance & Investment Committee and the Audit Committee of the Foundation and, therefore, interacts regularly with key volunteer/donors involved with the Foundation. Position is responsible for carrying out all investment policies as established by the Board of Trustees and in accordance with applicable state and federal law, for endowments, expendable and trust funds. With a staff of two, position manages accounting and audit operations for the Foundation. Oversees proper management of highly complex planned gifts to the Foundation in conjunction with the executive director of UCR Foundation and Donor Relations. Oversees a comprehensive system of endowment management and reporting. Coordinates and services annual audit of UCRF records. Serves as primary contact with UCR's outside investment advisor(s) as well as with the UC Controller's office. Responsible for endowment gifts from inception (date gift is made) through ongoing reporting functions. Also serves as endowment administration manager for both Regents and Foundation endowments. Works closely with gift administration and fundraisers. Works with consultants to modernize system support to guarantee reporting is efficient and accurate.
Education: Education Requirements Bachelor's degree in related area. Required Master's in Business, Accounting, Public Administration or CPA related field. Preferred

Minimum of 8 years of related experience. Required
Minimum of 3 years or progressively responsible, related high level financial services management in a large, complex, decentralized higher education environment. Preferred
Experience in designing, implementing and evaluating internal control systems for business and financial processes. Understanding of the interrelationship of procedures and desired results. Extensive knowledge of and experience in financial analysis, interpreting and applying accounting theories, principles and practices including generally accepted accounting principles, non-profit and governmental fund accounting. Advanced knowledge of accounting function. Demonstrated experience with and knowledge of the requirements of non-profits, including compliance with laws and regulations, governing documents, and standard sound business practices. Ability to work with external investment management consultants in achieving desired investment outcomes. Advanced knowledge of common desktop/web applications. Advanced knowledge of analytical procedures used in accounting project of complex scope. Advance experience using financial transactions and systems, as well as related policy, accounting, and unique regulatory compliance requirements. Advanced ability to effectively present complex accounting and finance related information verbally and in writing. Ability to extract, verify, and compile accounting information from multiple sources to complete work assignments.
Proven experience in making effective presentations through various media formats and communicating technical subject matter to a variety of audiences.
Ability to analyze market conditions, performance results, risk/return relationships, read and interpret financial information and conditions, and explain/provide analysis.
Demonstrated progressively responsible, related high level financial services management experience in a large, complex, decentralized higher education environment.
Demonstrated experience with UCR Financial System (UCRFS).
Knowledge of business and accounting operations in a large, complex, and multi-faceted organization including quantitative analysis, financial and statistical techniques, income and expense trend analysis and fiscal projections.
