The Treasury Manager is responsible for management and oversight of the assets of the Rockwell Automation's (RA) global defined benefit and defined contribution plans. The position also shares responsibility for the financial and governance functions of those plans. The position serves as a plan fiduciary and therefore assumes the associated level of responsibility and risk. Scope includes $3.8 Billion in defined benefit plan assets included on RA's balance sheet and $3.2 Billion in defined contribution assets. Also provides significant support for RA assumptions related to pension accounting, i.e., estimated return on assets and discount rate.
Oversee Defined Benefit Plans (primarily US, Canada, Switzerland and UK)
Work with external consultants and actuaries to recommend and document for appropriate authorization and implementation:
The strategic target allocation and acceptable ranges between return seeking and liability risk mitigation portfolios
The asset classes to be used to make up the return seeking and liability risk mitigation portfolios and the target allocation of funds to them
The outside investment managers to invest in specific investments in each asset class
Monitor and evaluate actual vs. target allocations at least quarterly. Rebalance portfolios as needed
Monitor and evaluate outside investment performance at least quarterly. Review status with Governance Committees. Recommend and implement changes
Present quarterly performance and other important plan details to the Employee Benefit Policy Committee (Senior Management)
Participate as a Governance Committee member or Trustee for the respective plans
Support the development of annual financial assumptions for the estimated return on assets and discount rate
Manage relationship with plan record-keepers
Support Global Benefits in facilitating participant communications
Assist with Treasury/Capital Markets projects and transactions, as needed
Responsible for monitoring, evaluating and making recommendations on retaining over 45 outside vendor relationships, including investment managers, investment consultants, record-keepers, custodians, etc.
