WORK HOURS AND EXPECTATIONS: Exempt administrative position; involves working outside of school hours as needed and occasional travel. The Director of Finance and Operations is an integral part of the senior leadership team.

Develop and oversee financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard assets, protect confidential information, and ensure accurate financial reporting.
Oversee school business functions, including: tuition billing and collection, accounts payable, contracting, payroll, human resources, accounting and reporting, regulatory reporting and compliance, and other business administration activities.
Administer the annual budget and multi-year forecasting process to align with the school's goals and mission and maintain account records related to the school’s budget.
Provide financial reports to school leadership and the board.
Oversee and lead facility and/or technology vision, support, and maintenance,
Participate in the development of school strategy, providing recommendations, financial analysis, projections, and other data to inform the process.
Collaborate with and assist the head of school and the board of trustees in meeting fiduciary responsibilities.
Perform annual audit, Forms 990 and 5500 tax filings, property tax exemption reports, charitable organization filings, DASL reporting for NAIS, ACIS dashboard reports and continuing disclosure reports as required for bank financing.
Oversee the risk management functions and purchase property, casualty, liability, and workers compensation insurance accordingly.
Work with the school’s professional employment organization to maintain compliance with government regulations and changing regulatory environments.
Work with school’s professional employment organization to manage human resources including benefits, compensation, and safety for employees.
Oversee and manage implementation and administration of employee benefit programs including health and dental insurance, supplemental benefits, workers compensation, employee assistance and retirement plans.
Support Director of Admissions in the management of the financial aid process.
Directly oversee relationships with business service providers (e.g. banks, auditors, attorneys, insurers, investment managers, food service and consultants).
Oversee the food service program and manage the relationship with the outside vendor providing the program.
Oversee all short and long-term facility use partnerships with community organizations and individuals.
Understand the culture and climate of the school and the wider educational environment.
Remain current with business management trends and cultivate professional standards and development by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in local, regional, and national professional organizations.
Be actively involved in the life of the school in meaningful ways, i.e., attending school events, teaching, coaching, advising, or leading clubs, etc.
Support school leadership in their various functions.
Collaborate with and support the Head of School in school operations and strategy.
