RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS Duties: Associate-Research with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in San Francisco, CA. Deliver client-focused investment research in the Hardware and Communications Technology market. Analyze macro, sector and company fundamentals to identify investment opportunities for Hardware and Communication Technology stocks. Track industry news flows, cover company events, and closely monitor industry trends to develop timely recommendations. Analyze and interpret data related to stock market, economic and political events. Manage data analyses and reports related to S&P500 cash spending, mutual fund positioning, equity flows and demand. Present data and conclusions in a clean and efficient manner to senior stakeholders. Research and write reports related to the stock market and economic and political events. Recommend equity investment strategies involving index performance, sector allocation, and macro themes through written reports. Produce complex bespoke analyses for clients. Collaborate with macro and single-stock groups within the Firm. Advise clients on U.S. equity market, including sector allocation and thematic preferences.
Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, Finance or a related field. Will accept a single or combination of degrees, diplomas or professional credentials deemed equivalent by a qualified credentials evaluation agency. Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or related finance position. Prior work experience must include: Financial modeling, including income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow; Industry modeling, such as global handset model, global carrier capex model, and enterprise storage model; Utilizing understanding of accounting and finance principles, including the ability to fluently read and understand company financial statements such as 8-K, 10Q, 10K; Financial report writing such as earnings notes, weeklies and industry reports; Utilizing knowledge of financial databases including FactSet, Bloomberg and ThomsonONE, and advanced Microsoft Office skills, specifically Excel (including logic functions, data tables and regression analysis), PowerPoint and Word; Conducting in-depth conversations on investment recommendations, company and industry fundamentals; Conducting due diligence and investor education. FINRA Series 7, 63, 87 licenses required. Travel required.
