A position in the MIDIS Investment Team offers a rare opportunity to gain credit buy-side experience with a global leader in the infrastructure sector. The successful candidate will join the growing infrastructure debt team in the New York office. The team combines the best of Macquarie's deep infrastructure debt experience with a flexible and highly dynamic approach to investing for our clients and growing the opportunity for the business.
The successful candidate will join the infrastructure debt investment team to assist with the assessment and execution of new investment opportunities and management of existing portfolio assets.
The Analyst will:
Undertake and review due diligence on potential investments
Build, review and run sensitivities on financial models
Assist with all aspects of investment analysis
Assess the appropriate debt level and debt structure for the potential transaction
Support with the negotiation of terms sheets and documentation
Have responsibility for contributing to investment papers and responding to client and Investment Committee requests
Have responsibility for aspects of ongoing portfolio management
Assist in the assessment of borrower requests
The successful candidate will:
Have at least 2 years' experience in Project, Corporate or Structured Finance, Debt Advisory or Investment Banking
Have credit research and analysis skills
Have strong financial modelling skills including exposure to cash flow and ratio analysis
Have outstanding academic results in a relevant discipline
Be highly numerate
Have an understanding of financial accounting, corporate finance and business reporting
Have excellent oral and written communication skills
Be confident in report writing
Candidates with an exposure to loan underwriting, due diligence and transaction financing will be preferred
Be highly motivated, proactive, and be able to execute critical work streams with limited supervision and direction
Possess outstanding interpersonal and team-working skills that will enable the candidate to build relationships with senior team members, colleagues across the Macquarie Group, with borrowing clients and their advisors and with institutional investor clients
